À propos de l'événement
ART IN THE GARDEN: WATER AND DREAMS
From June 4 to September 18, 2022
water and dreamsis an open-air exhibition that spreads happily through the wooded areas, the gardens, the vegetable garden, the dovecote as well as the park, the greenhouse and the courtyard of the castle. Each work establishes a dialogue with nature, the so fundamental cycle of water, or with the remarkable architectural elements of the estate for a unique journey. Thus, the public will be able to discover, during its walk, about fifteen works: sculptures, plant structures, creations suspended in the branches of trees, light installations, pieces placed on the water mirror or even works marrying the walls and architecture.
The exhibition and the theme chosen are intended to reveal new artistic practices linked to our resources and our aquatic ecosystem, such as the concern for its preservation, through recycling, savings of means...
For this 3rd edition ofgarden art, the association of the Château d'Esquelbecq joins forces with the Bacqueville gallery, based in Lille, as well as with lille3000, a cultural event in the extension of Lille 2004 - European Cultural Capital, as part of the UTOPIA project - 6th edition, which addresses the issue of new utopias.
On the other hand, the opening of the exhibitionwater and dreamswill coincide with the national event, scheduled for June 4 and 5, whose theme "The garden in the face of climate change" unites, throughout France, the "Rendez-vous aux jardins" season.
