Norman Dilworth left us last January. This major figure in geometric abstraction had made mathematics the keystone of often monumental works, in raw materials such as aluminium, Corten steel or even wood. Their modular principle was intended to echo the growth observable in nature.
Close to François Morellet or even Jan Van Munster, Norman Dilworth created with the carelessness and candor of childhood for more than sixty years.
For the exhibition which pays homage to him at the Bacqueville gallery, a selection of emblematic works of his work will be presented, in particular monumental pieces where the process of oxidation of the metal patinates the material with a color chart of browns and rust.
