HOMMAGE

Norman Dilworth passed away last January. This major figure in geometric abstraction made mathematics the keystone of his often monumental works, in raw materials such as aluminium, Corten steel and wood. Their modular principle was intended to echo the growth observed in nature.

 

A close friend of François Morellet and Jan Van Munster, Norman Dilworth had been creating with the insouciance and candour of childhood for over sixty years.

His tribute exhibition at Galerie Bacqueville will feature a selection of emblematic works, including monumental pieces in which the process of oxidising the metal gives the material a patina of browns and rusts.
